What to look for in a body fat tester

  1. Full body composition reading, with multiple areas tested. Good body fat scales measure more than just your body fat. Look for a scale that can also measure
    • body mass index
    • visceral fat level
    • skeletal muscle percentage
    • resting metabolism
    • body age
  2. Look for a scale that can also be JUST a scale. It is important to be able to track your body weight along with your BMI

  3. Look for a scale that is accurate in that it gives consistently similar readings over time without weird fluctuations. Do not measure yourself more than 1 time in a 24 hour period and compare those 2 results though. You must measure at the same time each day.

  4. Look for a scale that is very easy to set up and use after reading the manual. You shouldn't need a degree in engineering to be able to setup the machine.

  5. Look for a machine that is lightweight and attractive enough to have it aying out and around in your bathroom.

  6. Look for a scale that has a well written manual that is written for consumers not scholars.

  7. It would be a plus if your machine came with an worksheet that you can legally reprint and use to keep track of your progress.

  8. Look for a scale that comes with free batteries so that you can use it immediately after opening the box and reading the manual.

  9. If this applies to you make sure you get a machine with an athelete setting otherwise you will not get good results.
